  • Heavy Snow in the Mountainous Adjara

    It is still snowing in Khulo Municipality. Snow cover on Goderdzi Pass reaches 1,8 meter; 1,5 meter in higher rural areas and 1 meter in a lowland. Snow caused problems in traffic and power supply. At this moment several villages of Skhalta, Vashlovani and Dekanashvilebi administrative units are not supplied with electricity. Restoration works are carried out for this. Roads are being cleaned. 7 armored vehicles are working now, 8 more will be added in the second half of the day.

  • The Government of Ajara Autonomous Republic will be led by Zurab Pataradze from today. Under applicable law, the full support of more than half of the Supreme Council deputies was necessary for the approval of the Chairman. Zurab Pataradze was elected with 14 votes out of 21 deputies.
