Tornike Rijvadze: Despite the Pandemic, the Project of Building 3 Cities in Ajara and the Existing Investment Environment creates Positive Dynamics

Tornike Rijvadze, the Chairman of Ajara AR Government, while presenting at the Supreme Council of Ajara talked about investment environment da ongoing projects in region.

The Chairman emphasized importance of three projects of three cities and said that despite the pandemic, these projects create positive dynamics.

‘I am proud that despite the pandemics, we do not have sustained projects. We have not stopped building of three cities. These are the City of Education and Science, that I hope we complete by the end of this year. In addition, you know that we started Dream City project in February and process has not stopped even a day. The third and very important is a private investment project Green City in Kobuleti. All procedures for permission has already completed and large-scale work will begin in spring. This project will be unprecedented in terms of investment, workload and tourism’ – Tornike Rijvadze said.

The Chairman underlined the facts that because of effective investment policy implemented in the region, investment portfolio of the region exceeds 4 million Gel. As for the ongoing infrastructure projects, Tornike Rijvadze talked about waste management project, that is being implemented and will be fulfilled by the end of 2020. The project budget is 7 million Euro.

Water system development project is also underway in Ajara, that will benefit 215 000 subscribers. The Project budget is 60 million Euro and envisages the introduction of a modern water supply and sewerage system in Ajara.

Construction of Batumi football stadium and Batumi sports complex is also underway. The implementation of the weightlifting training base in Chakvi has started.

In order to support the investment climate and stimulate the economy, a number of initiatives have been implemented in Ajara during the crisis.
