Construction of a New School starts on the Territory of Batumi N16 Public School

Construction of a new school of modern standards has started on the territory of the N16 public school in Batumi, according to the decision of the government of Ajara.

Tornike Rijvadze, the Chairman of the Government of Ajara, took part in the ceremony of placing a capsule in the foundation of the public school. The government of Ajara made the decision to dismantle the old school and build a new school in its place, taking into account the safety of the students and the technical condition of the building.

According to Tornike Rijvadze, the priority is to support young people, to bring educational infrastructure closer to international standards. ‘The foundation was laid for the construction of a modern school for 1000 pupils in Batumi. The existing N16 emergency school was dismantled and construction work started very quickly. It is a sad fact that schools were not built in Batumi for years. That is why it is especially important for us to be able to overcome this great legacy challenge in a short period of time’- Tornike Rijvadze said.

According to the project, a modern school for 1000 pupils will be built. There will be laboratories, a library, an assembly hall for 300 spectators, open and closed sports fields. The building will be fully adapted.
