Tornike Rijvadze holds a Working Meeting with Citrus Exporters

Tornike Rijvadze, Chairman of the Government of Ajara, together with the Minister of Agriculture, held a working meeting with the representatives of the transport companies in order to implement the measures to promote the sale of citrus crops.

The purpose of the meeting was to discuss organizational issues related to the current year's citrus and persimmon season, production, supply of packaging materials and supply of products in a competitive manner in export markets.

Challenges and support mechanisms from the state were discussed at the meeting. This year, the citrus crop forecast is 70 thousand tons. This year, 3600 tons of persimmons are expected to be harvested in Ajara. The Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Ajara ensures the implementation of the citrus season on the principle of one window.

After the meeting with the exporters, early mandarins were harvested in the nursery demonstration plot of Ajara Agroservice Center.
