Tornike Rijvadze: By the instruction of the Prime Minister, the Central Government and Local Resources will be mobilized to Provide Safe Housing for the Families affected by the Landslide

Meeting of the Disaster Liquidation Headquarters was held in Kobuleti under the chairmanship of the Chairman of the Government of Ajara Tornike Rijvadze.

The staff format discussed the condition of the families affected by the disaster in details, the damage to the infrastructure and the ongoing intensive rehabilitation works.

According to Tornike Rijvadze, the Prime Minister instructed to mobilize the central government and local resources to provide safe housing for the families affected by the landslide, while the government will provide a new home for the homeless families. ‘Cleaning works are underway in more than 20 directions. At the same time, all the families who have been endangered as a result of these processes have been evacuated to safer places, and by order of the Prime Minister, by mobilizing both the central government and local resources, we will be able to help all these families and provide them with safe housing. One of the houses was swept away by the landslide and, consequently, we will do everything for these people to have a new house,’ - said Tornike Rijvadze.

Roads and canals are being cleaned intensively. Both the municipal services and the relevant local services are involved in the work of the disaster liquidation headquarters and the damage is being actively calculated so that all the families who have suffered material damage will be compensated for the loss soon.
