One hundred Years since the Liberation of Batumi

Tornike Rijvadze, the Chairman of the Government of Ajara Tornike Rijvadze together with the Mayor of Batumi Archil Chikovani laid a wreath at the grave of the cadets who died for the unity of Georgia. Gathered at the memorial, they remembered the heroes who died for the independence of Georgia and honored their memory with a minute of silence.

‘Today, we pay tribute to the heroes who fought for the liberation of Batumi, who sacrificed their lives for the unity and freedom of Georgia 100 years ago. In 1921, Georgian General Giorgi Mazniashvili liberated Batumi occupied by Turkish troops," said Tornike Rijvadze.
